UsingL‐tyrosine as a chiral starting material, we developed an efficient synthetic route to (–)‐MY 336a. A key step in the sequence is a highly regio‐ and diastereoselective intermolecular Pictet‐Spengler cyclization reaction between amino alcohol and benzyloxyacetaldehyde. J.
