Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) is sometimes performed on patients receiving aspirin and clopidogrel (Plavix). The safety of this practice has been supported by a few case series in the absence of conclusive data from any randomized control trials (1, 2). In this report, we present a case of moderate bleeding during EBUS-TBNA in a patient receiving aspirin and clopidogrel. We intend to caution the bronchoscopist about the excess bleeding risk and the required preparedness while performing EBUS-TBNA in this population.
