A discrete-time model was developed of the spread of Lyme disease spirochetes, Borrelia burgdorferi, in populations of northern deer ticks, Ixodes dammini (Acari: Ixodidae), and their vertebrate hosts. The model was based on a 2-year tick life cycle, with nymphs occurring earlier in the season than larvae (of a different generation).'
