There is general consensus on the existence of three Relative Forms in older Egyptian: the preterite ścm.n=f/ir.n=f Relative Form, the present ścm(.w/y)=f/irr(.w/y)=f Relative Form and the future ścm(.y)=f/ir(.y)=f Relative Form. By contrast, the existence of a fourth Relative Form, the preterite ścm(.w)=f/ir(.w)=f Relative Form, often named after J. J. Clere, one of its discoverers, is disputed. This study provides attestations in support of a fourth preterite Relative Form, evidence that is to be distinguished from both the future ścm(.y)=f/ir(.y)=f Relative Form as well as the non-distributive ("perfective") passive participle in Relative Constructions. The study is based on three groups of material: the Pyramid Texts, the Coffin Texts and examples from Gardiner's Egyptian Grammar.
