The detection of nymphs ofL. serratain the lungs of 9 of 3958 goats (0.23%) in Ahwaz, Khuzestan Province, Iran, is reported. The nymphs were embedded in 4-6 mm haemorrhagic cysts below the surface of the pleura in both caudal lobes. The numbers of cysts varied from 10 to 15 in each lobe of lung. A wedge shaped area of haemorrhage extended into the lung parenchyma from the base of the cysts. The nymphs were examined and measured under the microscope.
