An antibiotic, epicorazine A, isolated from a particular strain of the fungus E. nigrum, was shown to be a new epidithiodiketopiperazine from its UV, IR, mass, NMR and CD [circular dichroism] spectra. X-Ray diffraction measures confirmed this structure and its absolute configuration.
