I was born in Hiroshima Prefecture Japan on January 3, 1940 as the fourth child of Sataro, an engineering Cardinal of Japanese Navy, and Matsuko, a daughter of an only doctor in a local village. My family lived in suburbs of Hiroshima when we got attack of the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945. At the time, I was five years old and stayed in a house with my mother. The house was broken by the shock of the explosion and I got hurt on my knee. The house was located a little far from the center of Hiroshima and so we were free from the contamination of radioactivity. My elder brother Kishio was a student of Hiroshima University located at the center of Hirosima. Fortunately his group was sent to a factory of Mitsubishi Company for labor service and saved. My sister Yoshiko was a student of a woman high school in Hiroshima. She got a stomachache on the very day and was absent from school. She got saved but lost all her school friends.
