Water and food were freely accessed. Stereotaxic intrastriatal administration of bacterial collagenase type IV (Solarbio, Beijing, China) was chosen to induce the experimental ICH, following the method previously described in the literature and used in our laboratory (Jung et al., 2004; Zhang et al., 2019, 2020; Song et al., 2020). Briefly speaking, rats were anesthetized by intraperitoneal injection with 10% chloral hydrate (3 mL/kg), and then placed on a stereotaxic apparatus (Zhongshi Dichuang, Beijing, China).
