Henri Poincaré (1854–1912) had been a scientist with a wide range of interests, mainly he was mathematician but also theoretical physicist, engineer, and philosopher of science. He can be considered one of the last universalist, since he was able to give relevant contributions in almost all fields of mathematics as well in theoretical physics and philosophy of science.
