A study investigated the amount of time schoolchildren in two rural communities had available to eat school lunch, including the amount of time spent waiting for service and the amount of time available to consume their lunches. Factors which may be useful in decreasing the amount of time students wait in line and improve participation and the efficiency of the lunch service are identified.
