Procedures for the preparation and isolation of fac-[Co(tacn)(H2O)(3)](CF3SO3)(3) . H2O and fac-[Rh(tacn)(H2O)(3)](CF3SO3)(3) are given together with preparations of [Rh(tacn)(2)]Br-3 . 2.8H(2)O, fac-[Rh(tacn)Cl-3] and fac-[Co(tacn)(NO2)(3)]. The complexes are characterized by NMR and UV/VIS spectroscopy. The concentration acid constants of fac-[Co(tacn)(H2O)(3)](3+) and fac-[Rh(tacn)(H2O)(3)](3+) were determined, and the thermodynamic parameters are compared with those of the corresponding chromium(III) and iridium(III) compounds.
