Three novel compounds, erinachromanes A and B (1,2) and erinaphenol A (3), along with eight known compounds (4–11), were isolated from the culture broth ofHericium erinaceus. The structures of1–3were determined by the interpretation of spectroscopic data. Although compounds4and9had been synthesized, they were isolated from a natural source for the first time. In the bioassay examining plant-growth regulatory activity, all of the compounds suppressed the growth of lettuce.
