Gold deposits in Tulasu volcanic basin, West Tianshan, Xinjiang, are controlled by different order structures on different scales. On tectonic scale, the first-order structural control is NWW basement fracture zone, which is parallel to Borohoro Paleozoic arc. The NWW basement fracture zone defines the gold mineralization province, which is associated with Carboniferous volcanic rocks. On regional scale, the second-order structural controls are NW strike-slip fractures and NE extensional fractures, which control the distribution of gold deposits. On deposit scale, the third-order structural controls are steep-dipping near SN tensile faults and caldaria ring, which control the location and occurrence of ore bodies.
