Reports that Borna disease virus (BDV) proteins and antibodies were found in cerebrospinal fluid of patients with psychiatric or neurological illnesses. The antigens being detected in patients with recurrent major depression and multiple sclerosis; Indication of BDV replication in the brain of patients with affective disorders or multiple sclerosis during overt disease.
