Correlations between 116 adult siblings in soft tissue measurements (weight, muscle, fat) diminished with increasing age difference between members of a sibling pair. This did not occur for bone measurements. The estimated heritabilities of the latter are less likely to vary among samples drawn from different environments than are estimated heritabilities of soft tissue.
