A small-angle neutron scattering spectrometer has been installed at the exit of the guide tube glancing at the cold neutron source of Kyoto University Reactor. In this spectrometer, double-reflection Ni?Ti mirrors are used as a monochromator instead of a mechanical velocity selector. The scattered neutrons are detected by a 2-dimensional position-sensitive detector which has been developed by the authors. The geometry of the spectrometer is designed in consideration of the compromise between the resolution for scattering vectors and the intensity of scattered neutrons. The average flux of 5.5 ? neutrons with the resolution of 15% is 3.9 ?104 n?cm-2?s-1 at the sample position. The Q-range covered is from 0.004 ?-1 to 0.28 ?-1. In the preliminary experiments the performance of the spectrometer is checked with a biomolecule, ferritin. The results indicate that the spectrometer has an adequate performance for structure analysis of macromolecular systems.
