SIR, We report an otherwise healthy 44-year-old woman complaining of a solitary lesion of 3 months' duration, located on the right side of the nasal dorsum underneath the frame of her spectacles. Excisional biopsy was performed with the clinical diagnosis of capillary haemangioma. The formalin-®xed tissue received for histopathological examination was 8 ́ 4 ́ 2 mm in size. No gross lesion was visible on the biopsy specimen. Histology revealed a circumscribed and super®cially located neoplastic vascular lesion within the dermis consisting of dilated vascular spaces with occasional endoluminal stromal papillary projections. The non-arborizing narrow vascular structures dissected the collagen with a tendency to progressively disappear into the reticular dermis (Figs 1,2). These neoplastic vascular spaces were lined by plump endothelial cells with scant cytoplasm and large nuclei exhibiting ÔhobnailÕ cytomorphology, which was particularly prominent in the super®cial vessels (Fig. 3). Vascular lumina contained a small number
