The superior electrical and mechanical properties of singlewalled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) have made them promising candidates for many applications in the fi eld of electronics, optoelectronics, and composites. [ 1 ] Since SWNTs exhibit most of their remarkable properties along the tube axis, a key prerequisite for their application is a cost-effective and facile fabrication of well-aligned and high-density SWNT structures on a large scale on substrates with controlled location and orientation.
