Hymenolepis nana[Vampirolepis nana]infection in T-cell-deprived mice is manifested as bizarre larval forms and in ectopic sites,i.e.not limited to the intestine. Instead of normal cysticercoids in the intestinal villi, large fluid-filled cysts are found. Some of these are found in the lungs, liver and mesenteric lymph node. A similar disseminated parasitic infection putatively byH. nanain an immunosuppressed patient with Hodgkin's disease has been reported.A. M. Lew
