Pulmonary nodules have become a common finding in contemporary chest imaging. Several tools are currently available to facilitate the biopsy of peripheral lung nodules. Robotic-assisted bronchoscopy is an emerging technology that has demonstrated an excellent safety profile, with low rates of pneumothorax and bleeding. Both EMN-RAB and SS-RAB seem to provide good diagnostic yields, and the combination of these tools with ancillary localization technologies may further improve accuracy.
