Resistance of different species of weeds to s-triazines, a commonly used class of herbicides, involves a change in the binding affinity of the herbicide to a chloroplast polypeptide of 32,000 daltons. A single amino acid difference in this 32,000-dalton protein apparently is responsible for resistance to the herbicide in A. hybridus.
