Theflex divisorof a primitively polarized K3 surfaceis, generically, the set of all pointsfor which there exists a pencilwhose base locus is. We show that ifthenwith $$ \begin{align*} &n_d= \frac{(2d)!(2d+1)!}{d!^2(d+1)!^2} =(2d+1)C(d)^2,\end{align*}$$whereis the Catalan number. We also show that there is a well-defined notion of flex divisor over the whole moduli spaceof polarized K3 surfaces.
