A prime cause of denture problems has been shown to relate to the difficulty of duplicating actual jaw relationships because of the basal seat tissue distortion that occurs during function. Thefunctionally generated path techniquewill help to eliminate much of this problem.A lower denture impression technique which incorporates a cast metal base has been described. The retention and stability of dentures are influenced by the occlusion, and the functionally generated path of occlusion is used in order to avoid their disturbance during occlusal function.
