The following issues about the renovation subsidy system of historical buildings in Kanazawa city were revealed. A big issue of the financial subsidy system is the time constraint. Planning, negotiation, application and start of construction should be possible within the same fiscal year and the duration of the construction should be possible beyond the fiscal year. Unnecessary demands for refurbishing should be reduced and renovation designs promoting the utilization of historical buildings should be more accepted.
