The conference began on March 7 with a scholarly keynote address by Gerald Dienel who gave a comprehensive historical introduction to the exciting and clinically relevant subject of activity-dependent aerobic glycolysis in the brain. Dr. Dienel’s talk generated considerable discussion that continued at the opening reception and throughout the meeting.
