KHEREDITARY, developmental, posterior polar cataract hasbeenencountered inaNorthCountry family anditsdescendants overfive generations. It showstwounique features: progression andanticipation. Although several types ofhereditary cataract havealready beenfully reported intheliterature, onlyonesatisfactory pedigree relating toposterior polar cataract haspreviously beenrecorded (Ziegler andGriscom, 1915). Intheseries ofcases described inthat pedigree, neither ofthese twofeatures wasdemonstrated.
