The main engineering solutions for designing a large gasifier (with a capacity 100 t/h of coal or more) are analyzed. The principle of operation of an oxygen-blown gasifier in which a qualitatively new method is implemented for protecting its walls against exposure to high temperature and molten slag by evaporating water film is described.
