In this note, an existence and uniqueness theorem of fixed points for single-valued mappings in partially ordered b-metric spaces is established. As a corollary, the contraction constant for a coupled fixed point theorem obtained in a recent paper is relaxed from [0, 1 s ) to [0, 1).
