Early analomists considered three major structures in the inner ear to be adapted for fluid secretion and absorption: the stria vascularis, the dark cells in the vestibular system and the endo lymphatic s; ic. It is presumed epithelial linings of the former two produce endolymph while (he endolymphatic sac is concerned with endolymph resorption {Guild. 1927: Andersen, 1948; Enystrom and Hjorlli, 1950: Lnndquist. Kiniura and Wersdll. 1964 a, b: Lnndquist, 1965).
