The fabrication of c-axis oriented zinc oxide was attempted by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) in a rotating magnetic field. The EPD was conducted in a small container which was placed on a turntable arranged in a superconducting magnet. The suspension was rotated at 0–90rpm in a 12T magnetic field during the deposition. The deposits were dried and then sintered at 1400°C for 2h. The degree of the c-axis orientation was evaluated by the Lotgering factor calculated from the X-ray diffraction data.
