This paper compared the performance of different stator winding configurations of a fully high-temperature superconducting induction/synchronous motor (HTS-ISM). The stator winding and squirrel-cage winding were fabricated by using Bi-2223 tapes. The performance of fully HTS-ISM with concentrated winding, distributed winding and toroidal winding were compared based on Finite Element Analysis (FEA), respectively. Both of the rotating performance and current transport property of HTS tapes are considered. It is found that with toroidal winding, the fully HTS-ISM has larger torque density, lower torque ripple and larger current transport property of HTS tapes.
