A rare single-crystal to single crystal (SCSC) transformation assisted by hydrogen bonding was induced thermally. A2D homochiral coordination polymer {[Ni2(L-tar)2(H2O)2](H2O)3}∞ was irreversibly converted into a 3D homochiral coordination polymer, and the structure was confirmed by X-ray crystallography and XRD.
