Given an integermwhich is a product of distinct primespi, a method is given for constructing codes over the ring of integers modulomfrom cyclic codes overGF(pi). Specifically, if we are given a cyclic (n,ki) code overGF(pi) with minimum Hamming distancedi, for eachi, then we construct a code of block lengthnover the integers modulomwith πi pkiicodewords, which is both linear and cyclic and has minimum Hamming distance minidi.
