The essentiality of micronutrients in sheep metabolism and nutrition is assessed. The chapter elaborates on principles underpinning recommendations for optimal supply, as well as dietary factors that affect availability, transport, absorption and utilization of nutrients. Strategies for nutrient supplementation and the effect of micronutrients on the quality of end-products are discussed.
