This article presents a case of Onychomycosis caused by the yeast, Candida ravautii. Fungal involvement of the nails may present either as onychomycosis or onychia, infection of the nail plate, or as paronychia, infection of the cuticle. English grouped fungal agents causing nail infection into dermatophytes producing tinea unguium, moulds and yeasts. This article presents the first case to be documented of nail infection caused by the yeast, candida ravautii. The patient, a 50 year old man, presented with a darkish grey discolouration of both great toe-nails. Examination showed the nails to be quite hard and the distal portions showed dark grey discolouration.
