On the basis of food-fodder-fuel and medicinal values, six species of Ficus (Figs). namely F. glomerata, F. hispida, F. auriculata. F. semicordata, F. subincisa and F. palmata, are considered as promising tree crops for social and agroforestry in the Kumaon and Garkwal Hills of India. Based on the fruit yield and economics of jelly and jam production from fruits, as shown here, these Ficus tree species are recommended as income-generating tree crops.
