Abstract The bilinear form of the nonisospectral generalized Sawada–Kotera equation is derived. With the aid of the Wronskian technique, the Wronskian solution is presented for this equation. The soliton resonance is discussed in inhomogeneous media. Negatons and positons are also obtained.
