Firstly, it is well known that smoking status plays a vital role in the occurrence of ACE-I-related cough. In a previous study, we found that nonsmokers were more likely to develop ACE-I-related cough [odds ratio (OR)= 1.62, 95% confidence intervals (CI)= 1.02-2.58, p= 0.038].
