The purpose of this document is to provide users who are new to hybrid simulation with a general introduction to hybrid simulation, its components, capabilities, and the procedures by which a simulation is typically performed. After reading this document, we anticipate that users new to hybrid simulation will have the fundamentals to plan a simple simulation, and will understand how the physical and computational components work together during the execution of a hybrid simulation.
