Visual disturbances are well known and prominent features of migraine, and detailed descriptions of photopsia and scotomas are common in the literature. However, the occurrence of metamorphopsia and other disturbances of visual perception in migraine has only rarely been described in detail. I t is the purpose of this article 1) to review the literature, 2) to furnish a report of eight further cases, 3) to demonstrate that such disturbances can be studied experimentally, and 4 ) to discuss their clinical significance.
