Interest in the synthesis of transition-metal-containing liquid crystals and the study of their physical properties has increased considerably during the past few years [1—4]. The interest is based on new features of these materials that combine the optical and electrical properties of conventional liquid crystals with the magnetic and electronic properties of transition-metal complexes.
