MHD boundary layer flow of micropolar fluids and heat transfer over a permeable shrinking sheet under the effects of heat source/ sink is studied. Similarity transformations have been used to transform the highly nonlinear partial differential equations of motion in to ordinary differential form. The resulting equations are then solved numerically using Successive over Relaxation (SOR) method and Simpson’s (1/3) rule. The numerical results are improved by Richardson’s extrapolation. The effects of various parameters namely, Hartmann number M , mass suction parameter S, Prandtl number Pr and heat source / sink parameter are observed on the features of the velocity, microrotation and temperature profiles. Comparison of the results of micropolar fluids with Newtonian fluids is discussed.
