Serum samples were collected from 7292 cattle in Western Australia [date not given] and tested by CSL ELISA. Faeces were also cultured for detection ofM. paratuberculosis. No positive samples were found. The serum was then used to evaluate the specificity of 2 absorbed ELISAs (CSL and EMAI, commercial test kits). Both ELISAs were run according to instructions given. Summarized results are tabulated. CSL ELISA had a specificity of 99.7% and EMAI ELISA of 96.2% after the first tests, but further testing and a comparison of results with reference values and statistical analyses showed there to be no significant differences between the tests.
