根据矿物组合资料，在北部湾东北部的X_1柱样中发现了自生镁铝榴石沉积层。上新统沉积层含大量有孔虫，为浅海相沉积。其厚度大于30 m，位于岩心59 m以下。
According to the data of the mineral assemblages, the sediment layers with authigenic glauconite were found in the X_1 core collected from the northeast of the Beibu Gulf. Pliocene sediment layer containing a lot of foraminifera shows a shallow sea facies. Its thickness is larger than 30 m and is located at the depth below 59 m of the core.
