The monoembryonic pistillate varieties Sukega (C.paradisixC. sinensis), Temple (C. reticulataxC. sinensis) and Clementine (C.reticulata) were pollinated by Pearl (C. paradisixC. reticulata). Triploids in these 2x x 2x crosses arose from the fusion of unreduced female gametes and reduced male gametes. Triploid seeds were 1/3-1/6 of the size of diploid seeds.
