THICKNESS AND MARKING CHARACTERISTICS OF OCCLUSAL REGISTRATION STRIPS

RESULTSThe relationship of thickness of the registration strips to surface area of the mark was plotted for the samples. Table II displays the means and standard deviations of the measured thicknesses. The relationship between strip thickness and area of mark is illustrated in the scattergram (Fig. 5) and the correlation plots (Fig. 6). The results depict approximate linear relationships between strip thicknesses and areas of marks: the thicker the strip, the larger the mark (Figs. 5 and 6). Red papers register larger marks than registration strips of similar thicknesses, while the thinnest registration material, mylar plastic strips, produced smaller marks than papers or ribbons (Figs. 5 to 7).
