The course of dying and decomposing of cyanobacteria collected from Taihu Lake was observed through indoor culture. Technique of cross-flow super filtration was used to obtain colloidal material in the water, the contents of phosphorus, nitrogen and organic carbon of colloidal, particle, true dissolved and ionic states of water sample were monited regularly. In the course of dying and decomposing of cyanobacteria, the waters contents of colloidal phosphorus, nitrogen, organic carbon and particulate phosphorus and nitrogen all raised markedly. The contents of colloidal phosphorus (CP), colloidal nitrogen (CN) and colloidal organic carbon (COC) reached 5, 9 and 15 times of the culture using water corresponding beginning content respectively, explaining that a great amounts of colloidal and particulate nutrition could be released due to the decomposition of cyanobacteria. A conception model of releasing nutrition in cyanobacteria dying and decomposition courses was summarized.
