Summary. The author studies the behaviour of a multi-level method that combines the Jacobi iterations and the correction by agg r egation of unknowns. Ou r conside r ations a r e r est r icted to a simple one-dimensional example , which allows us to employ the technique of the Fou r ie r analysis. Despite of this r est r iction w e a r e able to demonst r ate diffe r ences between the behaviou r of the algo r ithm conside r ed and of multigrid methods employing inte r polation instead of agg r e gation .
