The emergence of behavioral pharmacology as a basic and applied science owes its origin and development to the interactive methodological–conceptual advances that have characterized interdisciplinary research initiatives over the past half century. The resulting enhancement of academic training and research opportunities has broadened the application of behavior analysis principles to a range of clinical, educational, and industrial settings.
