In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between news articles and market data (i.e., stock prices) which are expected to be affected by the contents of the articles. We analyzed news articles on the travel and tourism industry, which are thought to be strongly influenced by COVID-19, using polarity classification, and predicted their correlation. It is highly likely that the number of people infected by COVID-19, the government’s countermeasures against infection, and the development of vaccines are influencing investors’ investment behavior.
